Terms of Service

By creating an account or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service, or have permission from a parent or legal guardian. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement.

You are responsible for:

• Keeping your login credentials secure
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Notifying us immediately if you suspect unauthorized use of your account

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the Service, or attempt to disrupt other users' experience.

Bare AI uses artificial intelligence to analyze skincare and cosmetic product ingredient labels and provide personalized verdicts based on the skin profile you provide.

IMPORTANT — NOT MEDICAL ADVICE: Bare AI provides general informational verdicts based on ingredient analysis. We are not a substitute for professional medical, dermatological, or allergological advice. Always consult a licensed healthcare provider for skin concerns, allergies, or medical conditions. Do not rely on Bare AI for diagnosis, treatment, or to manage allergies or medical conditions.

We do our best to provide accurate analysis, but AI is imperfect. Verdicts may occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. You use the Service at your own discretion and risk.

Free tier: We offer a free tier with up to 5 ingredient scans per calendar month.

Bare AI Pro: Our paid subscription is $4.99 USD per month and provides unlimited scans and access to additional features. Subscriptions auto-renew monthly until canceled.

Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription anytime from the Manage Subscription screen. After canceling, you retain Pro access through the end of your current billing period.

Refunds: All payments are non-refundable, except where required by law. If you experience a billing error or technical issue that prevented you from using the Service, contact us and we will work in good faith to resolve it.

Price changes: We may change subscription pricing with at least 30 days notice. Changes will not affect your current billing period.

You agree NOT to:

• Use the Service for anything illegal
• Try to reverse-engineer, scrape, or copy the Service
• Use automated tools to abuse the free tier
• Upload images that aren't ingredient labels of consumer products
• Upload anyone else's photos without their consent
• Resell or redistribute Bare AI verdicts as your own product
• Submit content that's harmful, offensive, or violates any third party's rights

We own the Service, including the brand, code, design, content, and AI verdict format. You own:

• Your account information
• Your skin profile
• Your uploaded images
• Your scan history and notes

By submitting content (like scan photos or feedback), you grant us a limited license to use that content to provide the Service to you.

Verdicts and ingredient analysis are generated by AI. They are provided for informational purposes only. You are responsible for evaluating whether to use any product based on your own judgment, knowledge, and (when relevant) advice from licensed professionals.

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or accuracy. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely accurate.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bare AI is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

You agree to indemnify and hold Bare AI harmless from claims, damages, or expenses arising from your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may delete your account at any time.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of the new Terms constitutes acceptance.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Illinois.
